"I Still Have Shrapnel in My Body": Sangakkara
Former Sri Lankan cricketer Sangakkara has revealed startling details regarding the terrorist attack on their team bus during their 2009 tour of Pakistan. "We had just set off for the ground. One of our bowlers remarked that it would be better if a bomb exploded so we could simply turn around and go back home. Not even a minute had passed before we came under attack. I still have shrapnel lodged in my body," he recounted in an interview. Sangakkara, Mendis, Samaraweera, Tharanga, Lakmal, and Thushara sustained injuries during the gunfire unleashed by the terrorists.
