India refused to accept the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi
Islamabad: The Indian cricket team has defeated the Pakistani cricket team in the title match of the Asia Cup 2025. Despite India's victory in the Asia Cup, Pakistan staged a dramatic show that is being discussed worldwide. After the victory, the Indian team refused to accept the Asia Cup trophy from Pakistan's Mohsin Naqvi, after which Naqvi left the field with the Asia Cup trophy. Now, the biggest question is how will Team India get it back, despite winning the match?
Who is Mohsin Naqvi?
Mohsin Naqvi is Pakistan's Home Minister and the current Chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Naqvi has been known for his anti-India stance since his inception and has spewed venom against India on numerous occasions. Naqvi is considered a Pakistani leader who remains in the news for his anti-India statements. Naqvi also served as the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab from January 2023 to February 2024.
Close to Zardari and Asim Munir
Mohsin Naqvi is considered close to PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir. Zardari and Asim Munir are already known for their anti-India agenda. Therefore, it is believed that Naqvi, who disappeared with the Asia Cup trophy, was doing so to appease his masters in Pakistan.
What controversy occurred on the field after winning the Asia Cup trophy?
After India won the Asia Cup final, the prize distribution ceremony began quite late. Following this, the Indian team refused to accept the trophy from Naqvi. Although Naqvi remained on the stage for some time, the Indian team was not given the trophy. Now, this issue appears to be gaining momentum as discussions have begun worldwide. There is a lot of anger among the people on this issue from India also.
