Israel’s Presidential Award for Machar
Israeli President Isaac Herzog heaped praise on Indian pilot Captain Smith Machar, declaring, "You are a hero not just to Israel and India, but to all of humanity." On Sunday, Herzog announced on 'X' that Machar—who thwarted a plot by the co-pilot to crash a Flydubai flight bound for Israel on September 30—would be honored in Jerusalem with the 'Israel Presidential Award for Civilian Heroism' once he recovers from his injuries.
