Promotions Based on Current Rules
New Delhi: The Supreme Court delivered a significant verdict regarding promotions in government jobs. It clarified that employees do not have the right to demand promotions based on the rules that existed at the time vacancies arose in government departments. It was ruled that promotions must be granted in accordance with the regulations in force at the time the promotion process is reviewed. The Supreme Court delivered this verdict regarding a dispute over promotions implemented within the Andaman and Nicobar Police Department.
