Rapido fined ₹10 lakh
The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has ordered the operators of the popular bike-taxi app Rapido to stop sending messages that influence consumers. It also imposed a fine of ₹10 lakh for using such messages in the past. When booking a ride on Rapido, a message appears stating, "Captains are not accepting this price; try increasing the fare by ₹10, ₹20, or ₹30." The CCPA stated that this practice influences consumers to pay a higher price.
