Ras Al Khaimah’s Arguments Must Be Heard
Amaravati: A significant development has taken place in the Manyam bauxite mining case. The Court of Appeal in Wales (England) has determined that the Government of Andhra Pradesh’s cancellation of the Bauxite Supply Agreement (BSA) resulted in financial losses, including the loss of investment from Ras Al Khaimah (RAKIA) of the UAE. Consequently, the court ruled that the international arbitration tribunal must hear the claims, clarifying that the tribunal possesses the jurisdiction to adjudicate the case.
