RBI raised growth forecast, stock market brightened
Share Market Closing 1 October, 2025: The domestic stock market started the month of October with a strong gain. On Wednesday, the BSE Sensex closed at 80,983.31 points, a massive gain of 715.69 points (0.89%). Similarly, the NSE Nifty 50 index also closed at 24,836.30 points, a gain of 225.20 points (0.92%). It should be noted that today was the last day of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) MPC meeting. RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra announced the results of the meeting today. Considering the current circumstances, the RBI raised the economic growth forecast for the current financial year to 6.8 percent. It has also reduced the retail inflation forecast to 2.6 percent. It should be noted that before this, the Indian stock market had been declining for eight consecutive days.
Tata Motors Shares See Explosive Rise
Today, 22 out of 30 Sensex stocks closed in the green with gains, while the remaining 8 closed in the red with losses. Similarly, 37 out of 50 Nifty 50 stocks closed in the green with gains, while the remaining 13 closed in the red with losses. Among Sensex stocks, Tata Motors closed with the highest gain of 5.54 percent. Bajaj Finance shares closed with the highest loss of 1.10 percent.

Among the rest of the Sensex stocks, Kotak Mahindra Bank closed with gains of 3.45 percent, Trent 3.31 percent, Sun Pharma 2.58 percent, Axis Bank 2.43 percent, ICICI Bank 1.77 percent, HDFC Bank 1.48 percent, Adani Ports 1.33 percent, Mahindra & Mahindra 1.26 percent, Tech Mahindra 1.20 percent, Eternal 1.06 percent, Titan 1.04 percent, ITC 1.01 percent, TCS 0.87 percent, Hindustan Unilever 0.84 percent, BEL 0.66 percent, Reliance Industries 0.37 percent, HCL Tech 0.32 percent, L&T 0.31 percent, Infosys 0.25 percent, PowerGrid 0.23 percent, and Bajaj Finserv 0.05 percent.
On the other hand, on Wednesday, shares of State Bank of India closed down by 0.97 percent, UltraTech Cement by 0.86 percent, Tata Steel by 0.71 percent, Asian Paints by 0.62 percent, Bharti Airtel by 0.47 percent, Maruti Suzuki by 0.26 percent and NTPC by 0.09 percent.
