Records Shattered by Voter Turnout!
Voters in Assam and Puducherry turned out in massive numbers for the Assembly elections held yesterday, breaking previous records. Polling percentages have shattered previous records. In Assam, where the highest voting turnout stood at 84.67% until now, a figure of 85.38% was recorded yesterday. In Puducherry, the previous record of 86.19% was broken with a turnout of 89.83%. Furthermore, in Kerala, a higher polling percentage was recorded this time (78.03%) compared to the last election (74.06%). It remains to be seen—with the announcement of results on May 4th—which side will benefit from this record-breaking voter turnout.
