Rising Throat Cancer Cases Linked to Oral Sex
In India, smoking and chewing tobacco remain the primary causes of throat cancer. However, doctors now report that in the US and UK, a significant number of HPV (Human Papillomavirus) cases are being recorded as a result of oral sex. Specifically, they note that the HPV-16 and HPV-18 strains are leading to throat cancer. Experts attribute this rise in cancer cases to having multiple sexual partners and the failure to receive the HPV vaccine.
