Trump's Warning on Nuclear Threat; Mentions Strait of Hormuz as Well
Defending the recent strikes against Iran, US President Donald Trump emphasized that Iran must never be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. He warned that if Iran were to obtain such a weapon, it would use it immediately—a move that could devastate the entire Middle East. "I do not want a war," Trump stated. "Iran's leaders are violent and brutal people who have killed 32,000 protesters in just the last three weeks. If you believe that Iran should possess nuclear weapons, something is wrong with you, because they would use them within an hour or a day."
'Iran Would Blow Up the Entire Middle East, Including Israel'
Trump further added, "Iran would use nuclear weapons to blow up the entire Middle East—not just Israel." He asserted that the US strikes over the past two weeks have severely crippled Iran's military capabilities. "We have decimated them in two weeks," Trump said. "They have no navy left, no air force left, no anti-aircraft weaponry left, and their leadership has been wiped out. They established a new leadership, and that, too, is gone." He emphasized that these actions were undertaken not merely in the interest of the United States, but for the security of the entire world.
Donald Trump Also Addresses the Strait of Hormuz
Trump reiterated that allowing Iran to acquire nuclear weapons would result in the destruction of a significant portion of the world. "If Iran gets nuclear weapons," he said, "a large part of the world will be blown up, and they will use them almost immediately." Trump also highlighted the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, noting that some nations source 90 to 95 percent of their energy supplies through this waterway. "We have just one small choke point," Trump observed, "and Iran has exploited it effectively for years; however, that tactic is no longer working." These statements by Trump come at a time when tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate.
