Srikanth Withdraws
Former world number one shuttler Kidambi Srikanth retired midway through the first round of the Canada Open. Facing Malaysian shuttler Lee Zii Jia on Wednesday, Srikanth informed the umpire that he was withdrawing from the match when the score stood at 11-10 and left the court. Consequently, Jia advanced to the second round. In the doubles event, the duo of Doddavarapu Achyutaditya Rao and Arjun were eliminated after losing 9-21, 7-21 to the Malaysian pair of Kevin Lee and Alexander.
