Sydney: 17-year-old Indian shuttler Tanvi Sharma achieved a sensational victory at the Australian Open. In the first round of the singles event held on Wednesday, Tanvi advanced by defeating the fifth seed and world number 11, Chiu Pin-Chian (Chinese Taipei), with a score of 21-12, 22-20. Meanwhile, star shuttler PV Sindhu secured an easy victory over Lucia Castillo (Peru), winning 21-13, 21-11.
