Tariffs will not have much impact on our ‘pharma’: Industry groups
Industry sources say that the 100% tariff announced by Trump on medicines exported to the US will not have much impact on our country. ‘The latest tariff applies to branded and patented drugs. We do not export either of these to the US. Generic medicines are not included in this tariff. So there may be no impact,’ said PEPCI Chairman Namit Joshi. However, ICICI Securities said that there is uncertainty on generics and biosimilars.
