Indian students are losing interest in higher education abroad. The number of people going abroad has decreased by 31% in two years. In 2023, 9.8 lakh people went abroad. That number fell to 6.26 lakh by 2025, while it was 7.7 lakh in 2024. ‘Foreign education is their personal. Financial capacity, getting bank loans, wanting to see many countries... many factors affect it,' the Union Ministry of Education revealed.
