CM Revanth Reddy expresses condolences over the Suryapet accident.
A private travel bus collided with a container lorry near the Dorakunta area of Kodad Mandal in Telangana's Suryapet district early Wednesday morning. Six people on board the bus died on the spot, and 20 passengers sustained serious injuries. The accident occurred while the private bus was traveling from Hyderabad to Vijayawada; there were 43 passengers on board at the time.
**Front of the bus completely damaged**
The accident took place on the outskirts of the Dorakunta area in Kodad Mandal. The deceased include five women and one man. According to preliminary information, the private bus was en route from Hyderabad to Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, when it rammed into a stationary container truck. The impact was so severe that the front of the bus was completely mangled, trapping several passengers inside. Upon receiving news of the accident, the police immediately arrived at the scene and initiated rescue operations. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. A case has been registered, and the police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
**CM expresses grief**
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has expressed deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the Suryapet road accident. He has instructed the Chief Secretary to ensure that the injured receive the best possible medical care. He also directed officials to closely monitor the condition of the injured.
**Police provide details**
The police stated that the private travel bus collided with a moving truck around 5:20 AM today. Six people died in the accident, and several others were critically injured; they have been sent to local hospitals for treatment. A total of 43 passengers were on the bus, traveling from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. The accident occurred near Durgapuram Stage.
**Accident in Jagtial district too**
Recently, a collision between a truck and a TGSRTC bus occurred on the outskirts of Kondagattu village in Telangana's Jagtial district, leaving at least 25 passengers injured. The bus, carrying approximately 50 passengers, was traveling from Karimnagar to Nizamabad when the accident occurred around 5:45 PM. According to the police, an oncoming truck allegedly collided with the bus, leaving 25 people injured. Earlier, a passenger bus had met with an accident in Odisha's Cuttack district on Sunday, resulting in injuries to several passengers.
