Andhra Pradesh: The impact of the conflict in West Asia is being felt across various sectors. Coconuts have now joined this list of affected commodities. Within a span of just one month, the price for a lot of 1,000 coconuts has plummeted from ₹22,000 to a range of ₹12,000 to ₹13,000. In the state, coconuts are cultivated across an area spanning 2.7 lakh acres. Coconut from other states is typically exported to Gulf countries. However, as exports have come to a halt due to the war, that coconut is now being consumed domestically. Consequently, traders report that the demand for our local coconut has declined.
