Shigella Outbreak in Kerala: Child Dies!
Shigella is spreading rapidly in the Kozhikode district of Kerala. In the Peruvayal Panchayat alone, 12 people have already tested positive for the infection. Tragically, a young child has lost their life. This infection spreads primarily through contaminated food and water. Symptoms typically include bloody diarrhea, abdominal pain, and fever. The disease has a severe impact on children under the age of five. It is essential to wash hands thoroughly and drink only boiled and cooled water.
