Eye problems are more common in women
A study by the United States Census Bureau has revealed that women are more likely to have eye problems than men. Eye problems are caused by hormonal problems, increased fluid volume in the body during pregnancy, thickening of the cornea, and damage to the blood vessels in the eyes due to diabetic retinopathy. Researchers also revealed that a decrease in the hormone estrogen during menopause is another cause of eye problems.
