Female Wrestler Falls Victim to Dowry Harassment
Mumbai: A tragic incident occurred in the Dharashiv district of Maharashtra. Ashwini Manohar Pal (30), a national-level female wrestler, jumped into a 100-foot-deep gorge from the Khilla Naldurg fort along with her son and twin daughters. Three of them—the mother, her five-and-a-half-year-old son Ajinkya, and Kranti (one of the two-and-a-half-year-old twin daughters)—died on the spot from severe injuries. The other daughter, Veera, is undergoing treatment in the hospital for severe injuries. Ashwini had won five gold and six silver medals at the national level.
