Isobutanol in Diesel!
New Delhi: The Centre is considering another measure to reduce the country's petroleum import bill. It has decided to sell diesel blended with isobutanol, similar to how ethanol is blended with petrol. While ethanol can be mixed directly with petrol, it is not suitable for mixing with diesel; therefore, ethanol will be converted into isobutanol before being blended with diesel. Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari revealed this plan while outlining India's roadmap for alternative fuels.
