Minister Uttam Inaugurates Varuna Yagam
Nalgonda: The Varuna Yagam (a ritual to invoke rain) commenced this morning (Monday) at the Krishna River near Nagarjuna Sagar's Vijaya Vihar. The rituals are being conducted under the auspices of the Yadagirigutta Devasthanam. A *Maha Yagam* is being performed involving 108 *Ruthviks* (priests) and 11 *Homa Kundams* (sacrificial fire pits). Special prayers are being offered with the hope that the Krishna and Godavari rivers will be replenished with water. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy and his wife, Padmavathi Reddy, inaugurated the Yagam.
