Misuse of OPT in the US
Washington: The Trump administration has intensified its surveillance of international students arriving in the United States for higher education. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has revealed that it has identified 10,000 international students who are misusing the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program. It further noted that a significant number of these individuals are Indian nationals. Under the OPT program, international students holding a student visa are granted the opportunity to work in the United States for a period of one or two years.
