No to Layoffs; Focus on Reskilling: NITES
The IT employees' association, the 'Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate' (NITES), has opined that tech companies should focus on enhancing their employees' skills rather than resorting to layoffs. It stated that layoffs should be viewed as a last resort. Association President Harpreet Singh Saluja urged the government to intervene and protect employees' rights, noting that there are currently no clear regulations in the private sector regarding layoffs, notice periods, or compensation.
