Red sandalwood plants are being grown and planted in different ways.
The Seshachalam forests in Chittoor district are famous for red sandalwood trees. The forest department follows a special method in growing sandalwood plants here. First, red sandalwood seeds are collected and scattered in the Karthika forest. The resulting plant is completely removed and its main root is collected. This root is placed in special covers and the plants grown from it are planted in the forest. Officials say that if you do this, the plant grows faster.
