Sri Lanka Surpasses India in World Bank Rankings
Sri Lanka, which had been reeling from an economic crisis some time ago, has now stabilized and secured a spot in the 'upper-middle-income' category of the World Bank rankings. Vietnam and the Philippines have also improved their standings, reaping the rewards of years of sustained economic expansion. However, India remains in the 'lower-middle-income' category; the country has not managed to improve its position since 2007.
