Supreme Court Order to Former Tehelka Editor Tejpal
The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered former Tehelka magazine editor Tarun Tejpal (62) to surrender to the police within two weeks, following his conviction in a rape case. His request for an exemption from surrendering—based on the claim that the case was politically motivated and that he was a victim of political vendetta—was rejected. A case had been registered against him for allegedly raping a female junior employee inside an elevator at a Goa hotel in 2013, while they were heading to a meeting related to the magazine.
