Food poisoning cost me the gold
Triple jumper Selva Prabhu stated that he suffered from diarrhea due to food poisoning prior to the Commonwealth Games; otherwise, he could have won gold in Glasgow. It is well known that Praveen Chithravel (16.58m) won silver and Selva Prabhu (16.52m) won bronze in the men's triple jump event. "I thought I would win gold. However, a week before the competition, I suffered from food poisoning and diarrhea, which left me drained of energy," Selva revealed.
