Visakhapatnam:  A low-pressure area that has formed in the southwest Bay of Bengal, off the coast of northern Sri Lanka, is expected to intensify further over the next 48 hours. According to forecasts by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Disaster Management Agency, and various other weather models, the system is expected to move into the southeast Bay of Bengal over the next two days and subsequently intensify into a depression after the 16th. An ISRO weather expert noted that, due to strong winds blowing from the northwest, the low-pressure system is likely to track eastward while remaining within the Bay of Bengal.
